What is a positive tradition or godly character trait that you learned from your extended family that you hope to pass down to your own family?
I learned from my mother... How to serve the Lord. She taught me this through her example. My mom used her spiritual gifts, interests and skills to serve Him. She wrote articles for Christian magazines and taught other Christian women how to write. When I was little, she would think of ways that our family could serve God together. I've learned that you can use your talents or skills to serve Him. Whatever you do, you can figure out a way to do it for the Lord. Baking, knitting, writing, singing, babysitting, cleaning, clerical work, and even computer consulting are all skills that churches and Christian organizations are in need of.

That's fantastic, how many people genuinely live this way, I know I don't and need to work on that!
God bless our mothers; They are the heart of the family!

I learned from my deceased mother...to honor the Elders and serve the widows and widowers. Care for those who suffer. To respect or country and those who lay down their lives for it.
